NetSPEX consists of five
primary software components:
NetSPEX Central Server
– NetSPEX Central Server contains tools for storing
CAD standards and distributing them to mirror servers
(if deployed). It also includes license management tools.
NetSPEX Central Server is a web server application that
communicates with other NetSPEX applications such as
NetSPEX Administrator and NetSPEX Designer
via Microsoft IIS.
NetSPEX Mirror Server
– NetSPEX Mirror Server is an optional module that contains
tools for replicating and synchronizing the CAD standards
database on remote servers. Data is stored in XML and
synchronized automatically.
NetSPEX Administrator
– NetSPEX Administrator provides tools for creating, modifying,
and administering the NetSPEX CAD standards database.
NetSPEX Administrator is included with NetSPEX Central
Server.
NetSPEX Designer –
NetSPEX Designer is the user interface for placing
standards-compliant drawing components from the NetSPEX
CAD standards database into AutoCAD and MicroStation drawings.
The NetSPEX Designer interface content changes automatically
based on drawing selection, and the dialog minimizes automatically
to reduce screen clutter.
NetSPEX Compliance Checker
– NetSPEX Compliance Checker is used to check AutoCAD
and MicroStation drawings for CAD standards compliance,
fix non-compliant components, generate reports, and
produce CHK files – used to store comments and identify
non-compliant components for segregated repair operations.
NetSPEX Compliance Reader is designed to read
CHK files and repair non-compliant drawing components.
The Compliance Checker is an integrated feature
of NetSPEX Designer.
