A NetSPEX deliverable workspace contains
all of the configuration, standards information, and
CAD resource files that a disconnected user
would need to work with a particular CAD standard. NetSPEX
deliverable workspace functionality is designed so that
prime contractors can deliver their CAD standards to
subcontractors or other users who are not connected
to a NetSPEX server. A NetSPEX deliverable workspace
can be delivered in both AutoCAD and
MicroStation format.
A NetSPEX deliverable workspace is comprised of two
components: a deliverable workspace package
and a node-locked deliverable workspace license.
The license is unique to the specified CAD standard,
including discipline and drawing type, and is managed
through a deliverable workspace account in NetSPEX Administrator.
The deliverable workspace package is created, assembled,
and downloaded through NetSPEX Administrator, then sent
(as an executable file) to the deliverable workspace
user(s) via email, CD, or FTP download. The deliverable
workspace package contains the following:
- NetSPEX Designer application files
- NetSPEX Compliance Checker (optional)
- An XML snapshot of the specified CAD standard
- Resource files required by the CAD standard
- CAD resource configuration information
Deliverable workspace users interact with the standard
through NetSPEX Designer exactly the same way as users
who are connected directly to a NetSPEX server. The
advantage is that although they are using only a snapshot
of the standard, they are able to access all
relevant CAD standards accurately and remotely.

Users of a NetSPEX deliverable workspace
might include CAD operators at remote offices, off-line
field workers, project managers, and subcontractors.
Off-line users are able to draw according to standard
in both AutoCAD and MicroStation, and check for CAD
standards compliance before submitting their
work.
