A Documentation Link
(DocLink) is a file containing custom menu bar documentation
that opens automatically in the SiteMenu browser
by clicking on the associated DocLink icon. SiteMenu will
automatically display a DocLink icon next to any submenu
item for which a documentation file has been created. Users
simply click on the icon - instead of the menu item itself
- to view the documentation file.

DocLinks can be created
in almost any file format supported by Microsoft Internet
Explorer, including HTM, PDF, JPG, DOC, XLS, etc. Using
a SiteMenu HotBox, you can
quickly reopen the most recently viewed DocLink, returning
automatically to the last position viewed in the file. DocLinks
can also contain browser events.
DocLinks are a unique feature of
SiteMenu that permit menu item-specific
custom documentation to be deployed with SiteMenu. Users
can click on a DocLink to:
- Explore a related network folder
- Browse to a related Web address
- View a related PDF document
- Display a related image or photo
- Open a related office document
- Send email to a project contact
