  1. What is SiteMenu?

    SiteMenu is an interface development toolkit used to deploy custom CAD standards and design automation in MicroStation and AutoCAD. SiteMenu is developed and distributed by ProSoft.

  2. What is SiteMenu Reader?

    SiteMenu Reader is a read-only version of SiteMenu that is provided by a prime contractor (the Distributor) to its subcontractors. Users of SiteMenu Reader are restricted to the interface content created exclusively by its Distributor. Licenses for SiteMenu Reader are obtained from ProSoft, while the program itself should be obtained from an authorized Distributor.

  3. Do I need a license file for SiteMenu Reader?

    Not necessarily. SiteMenu Reader will display a License Agreement dialog on startup. You can accept the Agreement each time you start SiteMenu Reader, or you can avoid the dialog altogether by requesting a FREE SiteMenu Reader user license.   4. What are the installation requirements for SiteMenu?

    CAD Platforms: MicroStation SE, J, and V8; AutoCAD 2000 - 2004.

    Operating Systems: Windows NT (4.0 or later), Windows 2000, and XP.

    Memory requirements:
    Program Files 2MB
    Help Files 3MB
    Sample Dataset 20MB
    Total Disk Space 25MB
    Memory (RAM) 128MB

    SiteMenu browser: Requires Internet Explorer Version 4.0 (or later).

    Sample Dataset (optional): Several of the DocLinks provided in the sample dataset require Microsoft Office 2000 (or later) or Adobe Acrobat Reader.

  5. Can SiteMenu be installed on a server?

    Yes. Server installations are recommended for ease of administration and deployment of CAD standards. See SiteMenu Configuration for additional information about setup.

  6. Does SiteMenu work with vertical applications such as InRoads, GeoPAK, Architectural Desktop, and Land Development Desktop?

    SiteMenu works with almost all vertical applications, although it is supported only in MicroStation and AutoCAD. Interaction is determined by the accessibility of key-in commands while running MicroStation or AutoCAD with the vertical application.

  7. Can I convert BarMenu files to SiteMenu?

    SiteMenu includes a utility called BarMenuExport.exe that will automatically convert your BarMenu (MDF) files to SiteMenu (MNU) file format, including parsing of menus and subfolders.
